Look into the BEAMS engine out of the Toyota Altezza from Japan. They are 4 cylinder and can be found with a 6 speed manual trans and have close to 200 hp. Plus, they are pretty sexy looking for a 4cyl.
Like a 3sge? 185 hp. That's only 27hp melee than a 3rz. With his methods of madness he could easily turbo a 3rz and make 300hp. Now a supercharged 1gr would be sweet in my book.

My 1gr in the 06 tacoma is almost knocking on 400k miles door. Still runs like a raped ape. No noise, no issues whatsoever. I would have zero hesitation in boosting a 200k 1gr.
Twisted,If you boost any of these engines, your best bet is to get a stand-alone fuel management system. After talking to several guys on forums about stand alone systems for Toyotas, I've found Gabe Salazar is the guy to talk to. He's up on the latest and greatest products for Toyotas. He used to do a bunch of engine building and tuning for LC Engineering, now he has his own shop in Lake Havasu City. He's the guy that Fire Guys Racing had tune their race truck and build the harness for it.
Can he do it remotely? I was under the impression I would need to have a local tuner to bring the vehicle to. I'm pretty far from Lake Havasu. I figured the tuner would probably dictate what stand alone system to use based on what they like working with. I know even if I just delete the cats I would need a tune.
Ls with sucky blowy thingys.
