project : BLAZING with rockwells updates
« on: Apr 08, 2007, 12:24:24 AM »
well im going to try and post this whole build up the best i can. Fisrt of all me and my buddy jason are building up a 83 k5 blazer. We started with tonorcal's truck that he had given us to build up, but since im running a chevy motor and tranny/tcase it would be faster for us and we are both just chevy guys, but the next trail truck will be with out a dout a yota. Anyway we bought this blazer stock as the come, so far i have taken off the front clip, extended the frame mounts 10inchs forward to make me have 117'' wheelbase. This is also our first build up so i know that there will be a bunch of screwed up things i know it im just preparing myself for it. We are running full hydro steer. pinion brakes and hopefully 46'' tires, hopefully. The truck is also going to run off of propane its just the tank is just a little to big but i will make it work for now. I think the tank is a 66 gallon tank, the motor is stock, i switched to a 205 auto tcase. I put a detriot locker up front and i will weld the rear. the rear springs are now up front and i wil put 63s in the rear.[img][img]

since the front is already off you have to dove it.
how much lift will this monster have?
are you going to beat the body or are you going to armor it up?

ya im going to dove the front with the xo cage. the rear part of the body im going to cut it alot but make the xo cage follow the cut body line. i dont really care how much body damage this thing gets at all cause im going to have the cage and the rear sheel is coming off along with the doors and rear tail gate.  i want to dove the front and put two kc or hella lights wright in front. just need to get more rollcage tubbing and some sheet metal and i will get it all done and test it in the back yard.

when you buy the $300 dollar one its just the bender, then you have to buy the dies,   but it has the stand with it

ya the rhino is not really something i would depend on for flex, the front right tire was completly flexed inward a whole couple of inchs, sitting in that thing on that little incline it was really sturdy until i backed up to the little hump on top of the log then it went over. my buddy josh was driving it in the backyard and went to go turn around in a bumpy area a little to fast and he rolled it on its driver side then it landed on its roof. its a good thing its got a sturdy cage cause it hit the ground very hard. if anyone needs parts off this blazer let me know cause i need someother parts to get this thing going, so we can trade some parts aroung or something :phone:
