I was under the impression that a toyota axle with longs is as strong as a stock dana 60. Is this not true?

This thread will get deleted soo enough. Just wait and see!
the shafts are as strong or stronger than 60 shafts. it doesn't make the rest stronger.

What is the rest you are talking about that would fail? A stock Dana 60 compared to an 85 toy axle with longs (both under comparable rigs of course) I would call it a draw. The dana 60 arent all hype but it takes some work to make them bulletproff as well as the toy front or almost any other for that matter.

Hug your kids, pray for a soldier, and don't sweat the small stuff.

the ring and pinion. the housing tubes, the steering and knuckle size. the ability to hold up to a 49" irok.

Well I am putting the ARP studs in my toy. axle this weekend. The people at FROR are awesome to deal with!
I run 35" Mickey thompson MTZs I just got the other day, pretty sweet tires....
anyway, I think the toyota axle with the steering beefed up,  long fields and an ARB locker will hold up to 35's. If I ever want to run the huge tires I will need to do a dana 60 swap. My truck is still my D.D. and a 60 with 49's is leaning a bit towards the off road only type of vehicle...
But you can still do alot with  locked factory type axles and 35's....
