Life changes, got married, moved to lakewood, have a 7 month old daughter, and my son just started college, so I'm still trying to adjust to all the changes.

Your rig looked so tiny compared to those bigdawgs. Just goes to show you don't need hp so much as gears.

I was asked this question on another forum :

Pep,

Now that your Taco is bigger and badder than before after this comp/rebuild....are there any trails out there that you would like to tackle/attempt/challenge the taco on that maybe it couldnt do before prior to the rebuild?

(if such trails exist).

Are there any further plans for the taco or are you happy with how she is now, and just wheel the hell out of her?

This was my reply :

I'm really happy with the way it sits. I don't see myself making any future changes other than possibly linking the rear but that wont be for quite some time. There are plenty of trails I want to wheel and other big adventures I'd like to go on. I definitely would like to do Petersen's Ultimate Adventure and Twisted Andes Adventure in South America. . . I really love the way the rig works with the few minor changes, linking the front and going full hydraulic steering. I also have to give another HUGE thanks to the Marlin Crawler Family  :turtle:  for everything. Really loving the new addition of the 4.7s in the second case as well as the 30 spline outputs. all together I'm mainly hoping to get out to a few places I haven't been to in a while or haven't been to at all. Moab, Rubicon, Las Cruces, NM., There are a couple of really cool trails in Colorado I've never been to that I'd like to get out to real soon. I am definitely going to be cleaning it up a bit. Every so often I get underneath and repaint the undercarriage. I will be replacing the fenders soon and banging out the dents on the roof.

I went out to Johnson Valley this past weekend for the Tin Benders Jambo. We arrived Friday night, unloaded and went for a quick night run up Chocolate Thunder. The minute we started the trail, I heard a BANG underneath. Ended up breaking the front driveshaft and cracked the transfer case housing, right at the start of the trail. It was probably ready to go because I wasn't on it when it broke.

I saw a silver super duty with what looked like large, used (possibly 39") swampers mounted on rims in the bed hauling ass in traffic the other day down the 15 between the 60 and the 91.  The tires were turned inward so I couldn't tell what kind of rims they were.  I tried to catch up to him and get his lic plate number but the guy was driving like he stole that truck - flying down the shoulder when traffic got backed up.  This was Thursday of last week when it was raining pretty good.

That sucks!!! A few months ago a couple D-bags followed me home from work (night shift) and tried stealing mine from my driveway. Hell, these guys didn't even wait 10 minutes for me to be inside before the circled around the block and had the balls to park right in front of my house.  I scared them off with the help of some experience, and training.  Everything stolen this far south goes straight across the border in a matter of minutes, no one ever get their vehicles back.  Good luck to you, I hope you get your tow rig back......or the insurance buys you a new one.
If you're gonna be dumb, you better be tough. I've got the scars to prove it

Thanks a bunch for keeping an eye out guys. It's now going on eight weeks since it was stolen and it has not been recovered. Unfortunately I'm pretty sured it's stripped by now, but I still appreciate everyone keeping an eye out for it

If it were striped it would have been found, I'm starting to think it may now be a VIN switch and still out there somewhere, or is in another state/country. California requires strict notifications on vehicles but other states are not as watchful. Who knows maybe in a year or two you'll get a call from BADCATS, OCAP or one of the other auto theft divisions that they found your truck. Sometimes they come back fixed up better than it was originally. Don't give up yet there's still a chance that it is out there and intact since it has yet to turn up striped.
