Thaks for all of the nice words guys, i still need to fix the rear pinion angle once i get the final rear height, btw whats been your guys method for determining the pinion angle in the rear, in always thought just get the diff pinion to point at the yoke on the transfercase, any suggestions?

Yeah i like the 3r gens, i can't believe they even put ifs on the new fj's. They spent all this time designing it and still put ifs on it.

twistedtoy92

No doubt!!!! I guess it's for the people who care more about the "RIDE" than how it can handle off road and on the rocks!!! You see the build on the Ultimate FJ in Fourwheeler mag??? They made that thing straight up rock!!! I think they put 37 inch BFG krawlers on it too!!!!! wish i had the money to mess around like that!!!

if your using a cv the pinion should point at the t-case but if your not the pinion is supposed to sit at the same angle as the t-case.  use a degree finder and do it right

Austin W

I am just useing the stock drive line(non cv) entil i get the duals. i am getting a noise/vibration from the rear end ever scince i put the chevy's on. I will check the angle on both when i get a chance.

twistedtoy92

Do you have any CV's? I was just thinkin about it and i have 3......i believe!! i need to have some customs set up or just give Tom Woods a call!!

i don't want to spend the money on a nice drive line to have to just get rid of it when i get duals

twistedtoy92

yeah, i hear you there man.... thats why when i do my SAS I'm gonna do the duals at the same time..... I'd rather do it all at once and the best way that i can.... even though i want it SAS right now!!! Patience is a virtue........   :sleepy:

man about the thread issue (i know it was a while ago but..) are you sure you had the bearing all the way seated in?  i have had the same issue too, but all i did was lift up on the rotor a bit and wiggle the bearing in all the way.  then but the bug nuts on and they have plenty of thread left!  great build!

Yea it turns out the rotar/wheel hub was getting caught up on the main seal that seals it. i loaded it up with a ton of grease and had my dad turn the rotar while i tighened the nut to try and seat it. It's good now.

Austin W

so it's been a while scince i have updated, my computer crashed so i have been gone gone but i have an update. So dad just decided he wanted 4.7's so we got a cv driveline made for the rear. For the front driveline i just mad one from an old driveline i had and used the ifs cv part. going to be getting 5:29's for it soon. We took it out for it's first run last weekend and everything was perfect, the tires on't rub at all with the 35's.i anded up using 2 1/2" lift blocks for the rear toget it to match the front. Here are some pic's from last weekend and stuff.
