HELP Marlin
« on: Feb 24, 2004, 09:50:58 PM »
Ok here goes Ive got a 91 W-56 that is going in my beater.  When I got the tranny it was torn down a bit. (no gears or shafts were apart just had the case apart) I have put it together after inspecting the gears syncrows etc. to the best of my ability, everything looks good, shifts fine etc.  The problem is they took the input bearing and the other bearing that goes under the input cover, snaprings included.  The detent balls, springs and retainers are also missing.  Of course ALL the bolts were missing too.   Now I need to use this trans with its t-case so I have a longer drivetrain and I would also not need to change the shifter on the t-case.  Beings this one is forward shift (remember this is going on my UNDER $1000 beater! gotta keep the costs to a minimum)  I have a couple other W-56's that I need to go pickup but itll be a couple of months till I have the time to get those.  So if this one is a turd no biggy at least I can have all the mounting and setup done to make an easy swap at a later date.
Now the big Q is can I get all the parts I need from you.
1.  Input bearings & snaprings
2.  All the bolts (from bellhousing to transfer)
3.  Detent balls, springs & retainer bolts
I will be ordering a Mc07 from you when I know whether or not I can get the trans stuff from you.  If you dont have the trans parts thats ok I can go scrounging in the junkyard for them.  That will not stop me from ordering the adapter, I figure it would be easier to get it all from you at one time and be done.
Thanx in advance for wading through my ramblings :smack:

Make sure when you call to tell them that i posted to you on the board.
Do you have the front nose cose and shifter handle base?
There is also a two piece shifter socket linkage assm that goes inside the tail housing.
I can ship these parts out tomorrow.
You will note that your trans was assembled using silicon from the factory.

Talk to you tomorrow
