What tires fit tacoma TRD wheels!!!!!!!

The TRD Tacoma comes with BFG 265/70/R16 - Rugged Trail.  I want to buy a REAL offroad tire.  I would like to fit the largest tire possible with out any mods other than 2" coilover lift, so 32" tires are probably max size.  How do I know what fits my wheel  It is a 16" by (?8"?).   I was thinking BF Goodrich Mud Terrains.  If you know any other nice tires post them as well.

Dude-

stock wheels on a Taco are 16x8... so a 275/70 is probably the biggest you can go without hitting the upper ball joint.  Beyond that a wheel spacer or a different offset wheel is necessary to keep the tire outta that ball joint.

Call aroung cause alot of people will make a god wheelin tire for that size rim

with a wheel spacer and 15" rims my buddy put 33's on his stock Taco with minimal rubbage.

Hey man just some experience advice I raised my Taco 3" and put 32's on and they did fit when your on a flat road but if you bottom out the tire in a rut or wheel well and turn your wheel to come out you will rub hard on the plactic trim of your front bumper.  I would give yourself extra room maybe 2" coil over and 2" body or something.  Or you could cut the bumper trim like i did.  It isn't really reccomended to put anything bigger than a 31 x10.50 on that stock 16 x 8 rim I had a hard time finding anyone that would even do it.  I ended up buying different rims

I run 31x10.50x15's on 15x8 Centerlines on my stock 2001 Tacoma, they only rub the bolt that holds mud flap on at full turn.

Yeah I'm back down to that size now with the stock height and I haven't had any problems rubbing.  I wouldn't go bigger than that without modifications.

That sucks I want Bf Goodrich mud terrains.  The size they sell is 265/75/r16.  That is a 32/10.5/r16.  I think I might try it anyway with 3" of lift from SAW coilovers.  I don't really want a body lift.  They are easy to install but then you have some things that get out of wack like radiator fan  to shrowd, gas filler, and shifter linkage, plus need spacer for rack&pinion steering colum.

That new Fabtech lift for the Tacomas is pretty sweet but expensive.  Another thing I am running 15" rims with my 31" BFG Mud Terrains and at full turn I miss rubbing by about an inch to an inch and a half.  Your running 16" rims and wanting to force 32's under there I can almost bet you will have a serious rubbing problem especially when turning.

I think I will just do the easy thing, buy my truck and sell the 16" TRD alloys or trade them for the 15" alloys as soon as I have the money for the 31" bfgoodrich muddies.  I should be able to find those 15's they are everywhere  SUcks they don't make 31" mud terrains for the 16"s

I'm running 265/75/16's on my stock TRD suspension on my 04, no problem.  There is a small part of the inner fender well that rubs at about 3/4 lock, but nothing major.  Truck looks alot better too, the stock tires are just a bit too small.

i had a performance accessorires 3 inch body lift installed at a shop, and i havent had any problems yet, just make sure that the extensions on the shifters are welded really good

'99 SR5/TRD Tacoma w/5vzfe. SAS'd with 64" diamond axle (w/ long superset & ARB). about 5" of lift, 305/75 x16 BFG KM1's. Soon to come: 1.5" more lift (6.5"), 35 to 37" tire, undecided at this point., 63" F/F diamond rear, Marlin 4.7 tacobox.

 :attention:  Stop don't swap 16" down to 15" , you will rub on the brake calipers if it's not just right. If your going to swap rims go to a 17".
   Let me double check I think the muddies in a 295/70/16 or a 285/70(75)/16, and that would be  about 31 to 32 " for ya. I don't think you want to rub the clips off that hold the pads on the calipers right?  :thumbs:

Ok this is what your after right? :disturbed:  They make a 285/75/16. Ya just need a 16 X 8 rim for it. Double check you rims. I think you will find them to be 16 X 7JJ..  :smack:
