NEED HELP!!!

Ok I need help with a problem on my 1987 4-runner 22re.  I was driving to work this morning and my check engine flashed really quick and then the engine died.  I tried to start and noticed that the check engine light was not coming on while cranking.  I need to know where to start! I did some searches but need some help quick.   Please and thank you.

Start with checking all your fuses with a test light to see if you are getting power on both sides of the fuses.

Don't forget the fusible links too.

Have you noticed if there is anything else electrial not working?

Anybody else have any ideas what to look for?

The only other thing electrial not working is the rear power window.  But that is not really an issue right now.
