I thought Alcan was gonna drill 2 holes but they said there was no need since there's no stress there.  All of the stress get's put on the square tube and the bump stop.  I would of like to have seen 2 holes but whatever, and I for damn sure aint drillin through that spring pack.  That would be hell.  I could probably get Alcan to do it for me, they hooked me with a few more sets of bushings to play around with for free.  I just owe em a picture to put on thier wall in the office with all the other rigs.

Well...it's time for an update.  Ran into a slight problem.  When I welded the DOM tube into the sleeve, I guess I concentrated a lil too much heat at the tube cuz the ID changed just enough to screw me.  Prior to welding I could easily put a 5/8 bolt into the ID of the tube.  After welding, she don't really fit anymore.  Last night I went against my better judgement and ran a grade 8 5/8" bolt through the sleeve and the new spring hangers I built.  It didn't fit to well but me being a dumbass grabbed the sledged, and rammed it home thinking "oh hell, I can get this back out no prob."  Punches became useless getting it out, I could only bash it with a sledge until it became flush with the hanger, i screwed myself pretty good.  Spent about 4 hours on it last night.  Finally I realized just how bad it is and had to build a tool to get it out.  Welded a piece of tube to the hanger just around the bolt.  Welded a plate to the top of the tube, drilled a hole in the top of the plate...this was just so I could have a guide for my punch.  Because it took EVERYHTING I had to swing that hammer hard enough to get that bolt to move.  Total Night mare.  Yes I am a dumbass, I knew better than to hammer that thing in and yes it took both arms to swing the hammer hard enough to get it in.  I just got way too excited to see how the thing would work.  So my new project tomorrow is to go in with an overshot 5/8 bit to get that tiny lil amount of clearance I need.  This weekend I'll be mounting the hangers on the frame if one of you guys wanna come over and hold it while I tack it in place.  I'll buy the beer!  Later Dudes!

They are DONE!  This part of it is over!  Gotta weld the hangers to the frame and hook the spring to a shackle.

to your calculations with the axle mount installed, and the weight of the truck on it...what is that angle going to look like?

When the truck sits down on the shackle the top of the shackle will be slightly kicked to the rear of the truck.  It really is all gonna depend on what I do with the links.

I found some sweet gear last night when I was cleaning the garage.  Those cargo straps are good for 4600 pounds a piece.  I got two 12.5 ton shackles I gotta mount on the front of the truck.  And one huge 17 ton shackle I gotta mount on the rear.  Those shackles came straight off a Bradley.  That air tank is from a deuece and a half.  And I got a water jug, compliments of my old battalion.  This is sweet, I need to mount this stuff.  It's all staying original colors.  Like that 17 ton shackle with Desert paint.

Were back from Telluride!  Omg it snowed the whoooole time.  Definetly got the Jetta stuck a few times around town.  Anyways, tonite I'm going to map out the entire frame on graph paper and start finding out how long these links gotta be and where there gonna end up!  And I think your still gonna be the only one breaking stuff.  This thing is getting 1.75 x 3/8" wall DOM.  All tabs are gonna be cut from 3/8 plate, and will be trailered to the shop, I'm also gonna flex it all out on flat ground with the forklift before we burn in all the welds and take it to the desert.  Later

Do you mean when the suspension flexes and those bars flex up?  When I was actually under the truck I didn't even notice a clearance issue, I'll have to pay attention to that when I get the forklift under it.

Today I got the lower bars finished until I do the final welding.  I cut up the tabs for the lower links to connect to the axle.  Look how long those lower bars came out.  The upper links gotta be at a 50 degree angle and be 4.5 inches higher than the lower links on the frame end of things.  I'm thinking of going to the shop tonite and making the tabs to connect the upper links to the axle bridge.

Lil more progress.  Gotta trim my upper arms.  I forgot to account for the added length of the tube inserts on the uppers.  But I was able to get my 50 degree angle.  It was alot harder than first thought and once I burn those tabs in the only way to get that bolt all the way out is to cut it.  Kind of a crappy design  but it was the only way to get the correct angle.
