Topic: flat belly

alright, im thinking about a flat belly,after i pulled my cab but before i pulled the motor and tranny and transfer case i loosened the motor mount bolts a kittle and jacked it all up under the transfer case, it needed to go up a total of like five inches to get a flat belly, knowing i will need to cut the floor,everything else clears even the fan, the motor went from a front to back slant to the valve cover being completly level, would ther be a oiling problem? any other things i should know about? any help would be great

Only thing I can think of off the top of my head is the rear d-shaft angle. But you might be ok with the wheel base of the x, depending on lift etc.
It's been awhile since i've seen one done, so I can't remember if there were any hood mods needed, but that's not really that big of a deal.

didn't do any mods to my hood, radiator, or motor mounts when i did mine.  but i will tell you it is a lot bigger project then you think.  it took me the better part of a week to finish mine.  i haven't had any oil issues either.  but if you aren't running a body lift then you will have to take out a lot of the t-case and tranny tunnel.  the rear driveline will contact the horseshoe crossmember so that will need to be clearanced or cut out.

It took me like 25-30 hours im guessing to do mine. Thats with a gas tank lift also. Check out my build up thread and hyenas also. It worth it in the end. Probley one of the best things i have done to my rig.
