sweet

See me being the redneck that i am :shhh:  I would of stoped there at the :moon: level   so you have a hidden pool area. Then make a table/bar in side   and a small fire pit  in the center..............

LOL! Mark did want to stop there, just at sitting level but we got it filled and I bought a couple rafts that float just below the surface. He realized how much more fun that was.

We did a whirlpool! LOL walking/running around the perimeter and got the water going really good, you couldn't even walk back upstream.

Man it was nice relaxing in the pool but we have to drain it and level the area. Its only slightly off but enough that it's definately leaning and toward the house. I thought it would be really funny to have a catastophic failure with us in it, but not if it flooded the house.

We hooked the drainage hose up and are using the water to water the new bushes which is what we would be doing with the city water anyway so the money spent on filling it won't be wasted.

Mark's on call next week so I'll work on leveling the area and we'll get it done right

Having a pool is so cool! We had a great afternoon goofing around and floating.

It's not metal sided, it only has metal poles holding up the sides, the rest is just liner. That's why it was so cheap.
But I guess if you were to hit a pole wrong in a catasphrophic event it could be bad too.
We're working on draining it into the bushes now, by this weekend we'll have it done right

You can get a pool, these are really inexpensive and you can get a smaller one that's cheaper.
This is actually big enough to do some fair amount of swimming. I had a great time in it today.

We thought it would be really funny/cool to get a small inflatable that we could take on road trips with us. Could you imagine a small 10'x24" at AR we could lounge in?

They have the inflatable pools that would be really easy to set up. We were going to buy that first but thought this would be even better, and it is.

OK between working on the hall bath, and floating in the pool Mark decided we needed a door from the backyard to the master bath so we don't have to trudge through the house.

ANd as is his style all else was put on hold and he jumped right in with both feet.

He tore out the gyp board last weekend and then there was no turning back.

He rented this big honkin saw

This is the door, he had it just propped in place.

He rented a cement mixer too, last night he poured that slab in front of the door and toay he worked on filing in the jambs

By tomorrow we should have a door :hyper:

OK the door is in! :hyper: We bought some molding to go on the inside too.

But first, Mark picked up a little something to work on the next part of the project, putting in a walkway to the back patio and to the deck to be built in the near future on the far side of the pool.

We bought coloring for the concrete, and a cobblestone looking mold you pour the concrete in to make it look like pavers. A lot cheaper and easier than using real pavers.

More to come...

Well, Blackdog has been a tad busy with his house lately :gap:  figured I'd finally get around to posting some pictures.

My house paint when I moved in.

Now (at least most of it, the snow came before I finished completely   )

Inside, what almost all the house was

got the dining room and the hallway done, and decided I hate scraping with a passion!!
