3" body lift, how to get the shifters to work?
« on: Feb 07, 2004, 02:44:16 PM »
Just put a 3" body lift on my 1985 Toy in preparation for a 350 swap, what can I do about the shifters? They run into each other and the body, should the transfer case shifter hit the trans shifter when they are in the reverse/low-range gears? Any help or ideas and "how you did its" would be appreciated.

Thanks, D.

I'm working on pics, but they are always too big, tryin to figure out how to lower the size with my digital camera.
Money is the only thing that keeps me from my dreams.

No just take the transfer case shifter out and turn it around the other way will be easyer if u heat them up it stresses the metal and will break maby. just try bending the tranny shifter  twords you will help u shift it better makes it closer too u and takeing the transfer case shifter out and turning it around the other way.
If you didn't make it, and it ain't broke, you didn't try hard enough.

And I would just cut or bend the shifter hole to give room for the shifters if still needed
