Oh hey! Is crop dusting a hobby?

Depends,  If you do it like I do, you should call it crap dusting.  That's when you fart in a grocery store isle and walk to the end waiting for someone to walk through it  :toilet:

didnt know you hunted ?

lol yea.. been hunting my entire life, its one of those Grandson / Grandfather bonding moments but I love it.

We've been hunting up in Tahema off Hwy 36 for the past 5 or 6 years. Typically get a Deer tag, Bear tag (just in case even though we dont TRY and hunt them)  and small game of course.. squirel and quail.

I've went duck hunting a few times with buddies of mine but didn't really care for it that much. Might try it again, alot of guys at work are big into duck hunting.

I like to webwheel.

...oh and real wheeling and working on my truck and various other automobiles. I used to play guitar, no longer though. My newest hobby is autocrossing; first race was today, TOTALLY AWESOME FUN!

I assume you guys do this to sell it?  Have you ever sat down and figured out the true profit margin, after buying gas/oil, saws etc?  I know the saws are HOPEFULLY a one time cost, with minimal maintenance fees if you bought good units to begin with.  Just kinda curious, cause on the classifieds and craigslist I see huge differences in price, and some people just absolutely price gouging.  I've wanted to do this as a sideline for a long time, but california has so many requirements that it's tough to turn a profit.
Na, we do it for fun. No profit margin for us. Most of the wood we cut is given away to the people we know who can't get it for themselves. The firewood I get usually goes to WWII vet friends of mine or their widows. I've done some trading in the past for guns, a 67 Dodge PowerWagon, tools, some chainsaws, a lot of beer and stories that are priceless  ;)

I don't think we could do it for just extra money, we'd consider that work  ;)

So true, and that's pretty cool!  I thoroughly enjoyed it when I had a little house with a woodstove.  I'd take out a patio boat from work and get wood that was sitting on the shoreline.  Useta get some really good cedar that way, along with oak, pine and fir.  I cut into a huge lodgepole pine one day with a 28" bar.  Had to cut from both sides to get through it, then when I pulled out the bar water started gushing out!  We left it and I never went back, figured bees would make a nest in there and I'd get in trouble...
