I guess if no one is saying anything than it can't be all bad. :dunno:  It seens that the rust on the 86 reg cab is too extensive to patch. If he can get this one to run we will probably be replaceing the rear half of the frame with the rear half from the 85 longbed(green).

Oh on the hood! Yea that was a 4 1/2 inch grinder with a cut off wheel. The new edges are gonna get smashed flat then some tiny round stock welded to and the excess bent around that. Should make for a smooth finish but lots to do before then. I know I keep saying that but its overwhelming how much work is left conscidering how much has already been done. :shake:

Maybe there is some kinda rolling tool or something you can use that would be faster then all that welding?

Yea they are 33''ers and yes they are small. The rig needs gears or duals or both before any larger tires will be purchased, unless we can come up with a cheap used set. Hey cole ya wanna sell those 38s

grey was my sugestion but it looks like he's going with black so touchups will be inexpensive. The body is gonna be a bright blue that his 4yr old son picked. I will show some sample pics soon.

Fabrication left is gas tank mount, spare mount and battery mount in the rear. Then radiator, winch and partial fender mount up front to have a place to mount the engine accessories. We also plan to mount some tail lights and some sort of offroad/headlight. Then its on to the drivelines and modding the lower link crossmember for rear the rear driveshaft.

i would strongly recomend reinforcing the truss on the rear axle for the upper links that thing will tear off with only two attachment points at the very least i would tie it into the dif guard there is alot of stress right there and being that its raised above the housing theres alot of leverage on the thin walls of that housing
not trash talking just trying to save you alot of headache on the trail

Reinforcments are in the works! currently there are 3 attachment points. One at each end of the truss and accross the center of the housing. We will be running some bracing from the tube behind the ring gear to the truss also Don't worry about trash talking you can't offend me, just keep in mind it is a work in progress.
