:twocents:  I don't need the axles (and I am NOT posting this so a friend can get them cheaper), but I wanted to give you a heads up if you 'really' want to sell them.  In my opinion, and i'm sure many others would agree, your price is way too high.  '83 is really not a desirable year for the front axle if it is bone stock, most hardcore wheelers will opt for an '85 axle with full gusseting.  As far as the rear axle, it is nearly worthless to rockcrawlers.  Almost everyone matches an '86+ rear axle, which is 3" wider with bigger brakes, with 1.5" spacers on an '85 front.  I literally couldn't give my 79-85 rear axle away for FREE!!!  Couple all of that with the fact that they are purely bone stock from factory, and you'll have a hard time finding someone on a rockcrawler forum to buy these for $400.  You might do better on ebay, where someone might be looking to do a restoration vs. modifying a Toyota for off-road.  Either that, or lower your prices on here.  Typical asking price for a complete, bone stock '83 front axle is usually $100-$150.  You might get $200 if you are lucky.  The rear is worth anywhere from, like I said, nearly free, to $50 at the most.  Take this all with a grain of salt, as a simple suggestion or heads up......that why I put the "my two cents" icon at the beginning of the post........ :twocents:  Honestly just trying to be helpful!!  Good luck.  :)
I have to agree to a certain extent but you also must remember that parts are worth different prices in different areas of the country. You are in CO and he is in CA. That alone could make a difference. Or maybe not. :dunno: If he wants to sell them for that much it's his perogative. If they dont sell the price will be lowered. I have mentioned the same thing to some other sellers but responded in a PM to the seller so they did not get offended :beerchug:

I called a couple yards in Los Angeles and they get $450 for a complete front axle and that includes only a core third member.
These are the prices I will be asking as soon as I can sell here.
I know the rear is worth-less,although the third member can be built and used for something???
As far as the front , everyone makes trusses or stiffeners for the housing and you usually rear gear the diff anyways. Can u say SAS.
Just my two cents.

This is actually a normal price for complete sets of axles here. The price is very fair.

This would make a great deal for someone doing a Toy swap on a Samurai

Those were the prices i was gettin from other people here in CA. But i ended comin up on a sweet deal on an almost complete 1980 4x4 that was a stocker, got it for $350  8). Just because they dont have the factory trussing and such, doesnt make them worth less. How much does an axle truss cost from a vendor? $25? You can make one for cheaper if you have the right tools.

Good luck with the sale man, someone will buy them at that price.

This is the truss on the newer style (84-85) axles located on the bottom of the longside axle tube. yes the top gussets can be purchased from any toy 4x4 aftermarket dealer like Marlin
