4runner flatbed
« on: Sep 25, 2006, 06:09:55 PM »
Has anyone ever taken an extended cab body and put it on a first gen 4runner frame? I think I heard some where that it is the same frame as the standard cab pick up but I am not sure if I would actually like the cab corners that close to the rear tires and it would seems like a very short flatbed.

Oh BTW I am thinking like a 92 body style pickup not the 84-88 pickup extended cab.
There is a fine line between clever and stupid, I just wish I knew when I crossed it.

84 4runner
02 Suzuki V-Strom
95 Honda 1100C1
06 Ram 2500 4x4
(please note, listed in order of preference)

I can get a pic/scn of the FSM for the 88/89 4Runner.
Then we can see if the first few body mounts line up.

My guess is that if you are lucky the rad and the A pillar ones are the same. I doubt that the B pillar ones line up - so you are talkinga t least a FEW body mounts being fabbed. I do recall that the front pickup bed mounts were different from the 4Runner on the 4Runner and trucks of the same vintage...
yeah yeah - still IFS...
