Oil Pressure
« on: Sep 22, 2006, 07:43:30 PM »
:help: I was tearing around in the mud after work today and when I looked at the oil pressure guage it read about 15 psi.  The engine is a 22r with 180k miles on it and it normally has about 30-40 psi at idle.  After letting it sit for about an hour it was back up to normal pressure.  Wht do you guys think could cause this drop?  Bad pump, bearings, or the gauge...or am I making a big deal out of nothing?  :turtle:

Hard to tell, I'd keep an eye on it for a few days. 30-40 at idle seems like alot. Mine is around 15-20 and never goes above 50.
I don't need a winch, I wheel a TOYOTA!!!!!!!

ENGINE TEMP OR OIL TEMP
ALSO THAT LEAK AT THE FRONT OF THE ENGINE THAT LOOKS LIKE THE FRONT SEAL IS MOST LIKELY THE OIL PUMP "O" RING LEAKING
that coupled with the fact that its got a bunch of miles and clearances are not what they should be , its gonna happen
make darn sure the cooling system is tits
anyway thats my 2 cents :twocents:
been doin so much with so little for so long can almost do anything with nothing
