Ok, So i got a set of V6 3rds for my 85' p/u. First - Are the 5.71's any stronger than the 4cyl. or still the small pinion ?[The V6 is also a 8" gear set and uses the same pinion shaft. The pinion teeth are 1/4" taller and thanks to the increased webbing, and oversize bearings, the V6 diff is 20% stronger.]Second - Do I need to run reverse Rotation Gears in the Front, since the 3rd came from a rear ?[The reverse rotation gears can only be run in a diff housing that has the pinion above the centerline of the axle and the pinion is on the opposing side of the ring gear. Your rear V6 diff is just like the front 4 cyl and will bolt right in and work great.] Third - Can I Flip the 3rd that Im gonna run up front (modifying the stud pattern, of coruse) w/out any oiling problems ?[Have you tried this? Simply take one of your diffs and turn it upside down but remember to rotate it counterclockwise. (same as stock). The front wheels would go backwards! (if it was this easy, everone would be doing it) ]
