A340H and A340F
« on: Jan 15, 2004, 04:30:06 PM »
The A340H is the auto tranny that is behind the 3.0L, and the A340F is behind the 3.4L.  Marlin makes a adaptor for the A340F, and people have swaped it in there older trucks.  The F and H have same bolt patters for mounting and bellhousing to both v6s.  My question is there are both connedt to the ECU right?  Do they both work with each others ECU?  H with 3.4ecu, and f with 3.0ecu?  Main reason for asking is I am trying to do 3.4L swap as cheap as possible, I could always get the new tranny later but for now I want to keep mine.  Any help apriciated

Max, the 3.0 uses one dime size magnet, and the 3.4 trans uses a 4 prong reluctor ring. I had to mill the adapter housing on the 3.4 trans to accept the 3.0 pickup. I also machined and installed the 3.0 magnet on the 3.4 output shaft.
