Helicopter Rides
« on: Sep 05, 2006, 02:05:47 PM »
Yup, we're gonna have helicopter rides this year for MCR5. Mel will be in on Saturday around 10 AM for rides. So stop by the ATM on your way because it is one of the best ways to see the Rubicon in only a few minutes.

50.00 per person 3 person minimum.

10-15 I think. If you got cute legs the ride is longer LOL not really it's a Joke. Good ride though. I think it is worth it, if you have not done it before it is a must do.

sometimes if you ask for the good ride he'll go for it.

"50.00 per person 3 person minimum"

Is that minimum or maximum? or what? Looks like that heli can only hold 4-5 including the pilot....

I ride in a Bell 412 to and from work every week, If you never have ridden in one, for 50 bucks it is defiantly worth the experience. To me it is completely different from riding in a plane, very smooth if your pilot in good.

There is a fine line between clever and stupid, I just wish I knew when I crossed it.

As always Mel gave some awesome rides! I'll try and post up some pics later.
If it weren't for Mel and his chopper we wouldn't have had any sound system down there. He was kind enough to sling load it in with some of their other stuff for the Jeep Jamboree and the best part is that at the end of the weekend I didn't have to walk out. He gave me, my wife and dog a ride back out to Loon. Saaawweeeeetttt!

The heli ride was awesome! I video'd the whole thing and I'm going to try to compress it and host it. So I only got a couple photos.

We got the first ride Saturday morning (Alex from CRAWL Magazine, Myself & Marlin). Alex somehow convinced the pilot to remove the front door for some better photography opportunities. So I hear the lots of people enjoyed the open front seat.

I also know the second ride was (Marlin, Christine & Bevin). It was definately worth $50.....

I GOT TO GO :hyper: You just can't see the 'occupied' sign from this distance!  :toiletwait:

:talkingn:

No, really, I rode with rlwjaw (Richard Wentworth) and his son Dustin.
I video taped the whole thing and gave Richard my digital. Thanks Richard, really great pictures!!
Dustin HAD a fear of heights so he wanted to sit in the front seat, when I saw him leaning out the door at the end of the flight to take more pics I guessed he conquered his fear. We all had such a blast!
What an AWESOME ride!! Thank you so much for providing that.

In this first one you can see Rockscrambler standing on the rock taking pictures of us in the helicopter and FFC walking by.
ANd the last one is our campsite. You can just see the Mammoth to the NE of the big blue tent. You can make out the diamond plate on the roof and barely see the yellow.

It will depend on the timing. The helicopter is up there for the Jeep Jamboree. We just get the benefit of them already being there and they get the benefit of making some extra cash giving rides in their down time.
