what size is the shifter detent ball for the TC?
« on: Jan 15, 2004, 10:21:36 AM »
yup i was disassembling a TC and one of the detent balls fell on the floor and is never to be seen again.

so i thought i better be careful with the other one so i put it in a zip lock baggy and then in my pocket.  well one week later and i still can't find the second one.

does any one know the diameter of those guys so that i can order some more.    i want to guess that they are 5mm but i'm not sure.

And I thought you were in Hawaii. The ball is an American size which is an industry standard part. It is Toy #90360-06004 and has a list of 0.77 cents. There are 3 of them on the orginal t-case output shaft.
Will send three out today.
Well thats $2.31 that I will never make, and we are eating the postage :moon:
Get that Marlin togeather :slap:

yea lot's of folks think i'm either hawaiian or in hawaii.

the screen name i created in 1999 and just kept it.

the hawaii is because i wore hawaiian shirts when competing offroad.  the 500 because i was competing on a CR500 dirt bike and the 1999 because i won the first place state trophy for open expert class.

hey i'll send three bucks.  i don't mind paying for them i just needed to find out the size.  the dealership was no help.  the guy kept trying to sell me the bolt and spring that holds the ball to the shifter shaft.

thanks again
mike

Mike, I dont want your money, I was just giving you a hard time.
And besides, I read your post wrong.
You were looking for the detent ball #90360-08009 list $0.94
It is an American size  .3125 or 5/16".
There are two of then in each t-case, but only found on the shift rods.
Way to hang dude on the award
