95 T-100 Acceleration Stumble HELP!!!!!!!
« on: Sep 02, 2006, 06:36:59 PM »
I'm having trouble diagnosing this problem and I was hoping for some suggestions. The truck has the 3.4L V-6 and 5 speed manual. When I accelerate and the rpms get to around 3000 the truck stumbles/bogs down. I've changed all the plugs and put in the NGK dual grounded plugs that Toyota suggested and it helped, but there is still a hesitation. At around 4000 rpms it will plain out till about 5000 rpm and then it starts all over. I had put it on my own diagonostic comp. and all sensor readings were fine, but I was at a loss so it went to the dealership. They were at a loss also. I'm not sure what else to try. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

Check and make sure the injector ground wires are securely attached to the intake plenum on the drivers side of the engine, near the diagnostic port.

Check and be sure you're getting good fuel pressure- you might have a fuel pump going out, or a partially clogged fuel filter.

Check your coil packs and be sure they are working properly.

I still havent found a fix for this. I've had it to 3 different dealships and forked out hundreds of dollars cause I can't seem to find anything "wrong" with it. Mine does the same exact thing. When you floor it it's like all the power is gone but if you feather the throttle slowly to raise the rpms it seems to work fine. I've seriously and literally checked every sensor on the truck 3 times and some of them more. The dealerships all say that they have no idea whats up and the only thing they could do is start replacing parts randomly. I really wish I could find a cure for it.

I hear ya!!! I cant tell you how many times I've droped it into thrid just to get the r's up to pass...ive found the rev limiter a few times lately. I have discovered that the cold seems to affect it more. :headscratch: I dont know if that helps with find the problem or not. Mine seems to stumble the worst right around 3000-4000 rpms, but its pretty much throughtout the entire way. It does clear up around 4750-5000 rpms, but then you're alomst tapping the limiter so I'm at a hault for ideas now.
