haha we just bought a 89 4Runner for her that she wants me to build.  She currently has a 00' Neon  that is going to be sold now.  She has been wanting a 4wd for quite a while now, so we just picked up this new Runner for $1500.  Its cherry too.  Very glossy paint with fender flares and a clean inside.  It needs a little motor work but I have a 87 SR5 runner that I'm going to part out and put all the goodies in it for her, and rebuild the engine so that its pretty much a brand new runner.  She wants it SAS'd and to have 35's but I told her that'd be a little ways down the road.

sounds good to me.  I'm thinking we'll arrive around 9 p.m.  Let me know somewhere that we can all meet then around the begining of next week.  Like I said earlier this is my first visit to the con and I hate going somewhere when I have no idea where to go, and what to do.

UPDATE:

So I got home last night with the buggy around 2:30 AM.  I don't think I could've had any worse weather to tow it home with coming out of Seattle.  It was pouring down rain and with everything bare metal right now I have to emry cloth it all down before I put some paint on it.  Thankfully my seat covers work really good and my seats stayed clean.  I have to get ready for the Demo Derby tomorrow night and so I hope that I can get some work done on my buggy today. I dont' have time to post pictures right now but I will hopefully tonight.

here's a few updated pics.

All of the aluminum work is tig'd

Here is the other 3 seater buggy they are building right now.  I can't get over how much better the lines on my buggy are.

Here are some flex pictures

we measured 50" vertical travel and they said onces its fully loaded the suspension will cycle more with a little weight on it and I should get over 52" of vertical travel. Not bad for a 105" wheelbase.  The driveshaft only has 1.5" of travel because of the good suspension geometry

I can't wait to see this thing on the con!

How much oil/air do you have in those shocks?   I'm gonna start adjusting mine today/tomorrow.

Thats some serious progress you've made in a short time man. Lookin forward to seeing it in action.

gotrocks

well I can't take all of the credit.  The guys at SN Fab have done a lot of work for me.  I normally am not somone who has work done for them but I am in a really big time crunch and they were able to help me out quite a bit.  Its actually really amazing how easily and how fast this buggy can go together.  When I got to their shop the shocks weren't on and there wasn't really anything in the car.  We had just tacked the mounts for the seats but we did A LOT of work in the 2 days I was at their shop.

I wasn't able to work on it today because we had the Demo derby at our fair and I raced in it as well as gotrocksgirl. I took home 1st again in my heat race and she took home second.  Tomorrow I wil have it painted and hopefully it will be almost back together.  Saturday night I hope to have the wireing almost done and monday the fuel and brake lines should be finished. We plan to pack on Wednesday and so Tuesday it better be running so I can take it for a spin to make sure everything is working

oil: there is the maximum amount in the front and factory amount in the rear if I'm not mistaken.

Nitro: 300 up front and 200 out back

toynorcal

Well, we'll hope you don't run into any snags in the wiring or brakes man. That stuff happens, just ask Shane :talkingn:

gotrocks

everything is new and the guys who built the chassis have given my every part number that I need.  I bought everthing I was told to get to finish it and lets hope it all goes together well.

My fiance and I painted it tonight and need a couple more cans to finish it out tomorrow.  I already replaced my oil pan and pickup along with the bent flex plate that I had so tomorrow the engine/tranny/t-case all go back in.  I'm planning on running the fuel line and get a start on the brake lines. Monday the electrical should be all hooked up and I am planning on fireing it up.

gotrocks

well we got it all painted and got the engine/tranny/t-case all put back in.  The fuel lines are mocked up and in place as well as a start on the brake lines.  I should have it wired up by today and finish the brake lines.

I ran into a snag yesterday when we noticed that the new oil pan that I had to put on is shapped differently up front and its the exhuast.  So now I have to get a new tube bent that runs from the passenger side to the drivers side.  It should be an easy fix its just annoying because since its Labor day I can't go get it bent up today.  Well at least I have a connection at the exhuast shop, they should be able to just bend it up for me when I show up on tuesday morning.

So now the only things left for me to do are run the wires to everything, install the rocklights, headlights, guages, fuel pump, and figure out my custom air intake setup I have to fabricate.

sorry they aren't very detailed but its the best I can do right now.

We got the wireing mostly hooked up and cranked the engine over.  The fans are all wired in and the fuel pump is wired and  ready to go

The To DO list for tomorrow is
-replace the bad caliper (had a bad casting on the seat for the banjo bolt and wouldn't seal)
-wire up the rocklights
-get new exhuast tube bent
-put on air intake
-finish the radiator tube
-fill the diffs/tranny/t-case/engine with fluid
-wire up the arb compressor and run airline and wireing
-bleed brakes/power steering
-put all flooring and seats back in
-take it for a test drive
