why dont they punch all the holes inthe head gasket

i was told by a friend, who worked for toyota for 15 years, that it is to regulate the flow of coolant across the head and block more evenley.
1985 4runner on 35 boggers.  22re, W56 tranny, daul cases with 4:1 in the back case, ford f150 fronts with 63" chevys in the back, cross over steering, full width chevy axles with detroit back and ARB front,

you're gage may show "nice and cool" but the back of the head mite be getting alittle to hot :maddest:

 :eyebrow:guess its a good thing i put that temp sensor in the back of the head,  but i just punched a phillips screw driver thru those water jacket holes, i have to run over 4000 for 15 to 20 miles to get the stock gauge halfway, and the rear gauge has never got over 170 :_order:
