IROKS OR SWAMPERS WHAT SHOULD I CHOOSE
« on: Aug 05, 2006, 10:46:34 PM »
Sup radical dudes!!!! got a quick question for ya.

What tire would you pick for my application, a 36 inch IROK or a 38 inch TSL Swamper.
I got a 80 pickup with a 20r and a 4 speed tranny, got 5.29 gears and its locked front and rear, plan on getting smurfields or longs, i  plan on doing lots of mud and hill climbs , lots of trails and little bit of rock crawling.
What would you choose!!!

I have to say that I really like my Iroks. and I think that my next set will be 39.5 Iroks.  But I don't see much mud.... Living in Moab.

Iroks work good in the mud and you might have a hard time cleanig out 38's with a 20r. I would go with the iroks unless you plan on doing some engine upgrades. :twocents:

Swampers are heavier than IROKS so you may want to take that into your decision. Plus from what I've seen the side bite on Swampers leave you wishing you had something else as you slide off a big rock and get stuck.

I say Iroks. It's a lighter tire and from what I have read they do pretty well in mud.

For mud go with iroks 36-13.50 ??? cus the wider the tire in mud the more flotation you will have. They are a good mud tire

Get the 38x15.5 sx :)  Wide enough.  Lots of sidewall.  Iroks tend to have a sidewall that rips easier as well so take that into consideration.

But that is a heavy tire to spin in the mud with a 20R.

If it has the letters TSL in it, you should be fine
Finally Straight Axled, e-Locker, 5.29's, Lockright Rear, 13" travel tractor spline driveshaft, CV eliminator, Fully Gusseted front axle, Marlins almighty 5" Trail Flex lift Kit, 36" TSL's
