Wheel Spacer question for the Migo

Hey ya'll how's it goin? Well I gotta get spacers for the Migo in order to keep the tires from rubbing on the shock hoops, so I was wondering if I could get some opinions on the matter.   I was thinking of going 2" and 3", but I can't decide where to put the 2"'s and where to put the 3's.  So, why not go 3" all around? I have yota axles front and rear now, and the rear is not the IFS rear.  Any good reason why I shouldn't go 3" spacers all around?

And if you recommend using both 2 and 3's... which should go where?

just remember the wider the spacer.... the less you can turn.  I'd do as little as needed.

also- I would recommend having your front end about 1" wider than your rear... that way you know you can clear something w/o hitting the rear body and backing out. jmo

The non IFS rear axle is no wider than the front so go with the same size 360*, keep them as small as possible or you may find you hit the outside fenders and they will be easier on your seals and bearings.

Thanks.... any other ideas? I have to get the wider spacers as far as I can tell because I'd rather not snap my shocks when I flex in the front.  I need the spacers to keep the tires away from the shocks/hoops.  And cuz the Migo is originally wider than a toyota, so if I go with 3" spacers I"ll be about 1" wider than the Amigo was stock :hammer:

I hated that, I  was always rubbing the paint off my towers, if the 3" only makes you 1" over stock that would be fine as long as you don't have some wild offset on the rims.

I hated that, I  was always rubbing the paint off my towers, if the 3" only makes you 1" over stock that would be fine as long as you don't have some wild offset on the rims.

As long as you currently have ample fender clearance under full compression you should be Ok, but if you are close you may have to break out the sawzall.

The more spacer you use the farther the tires will move front and back when you turn. Also the more strain you put on the stearing componets as well as bearings and spindles.

Can't you just move the shock hoops?

I went 2" spacers when I had toyota axles and loved the wider stance.. made the truck much more stable but I had to cut the kick panels back alot so they didn't rub.

Yea, and she has already done that. Need to move the axle forward and who needs shocks anyway  :_oops:

I don't really have much room left for moving the shock hoops they're already almost straight up and down :disturbed: I understand the strain on the steering components, but at least I've narrowed it down to hi-steer and still an Isuzu steering box...

I deffinately need the tires out more.  I plan to go with an IFS rear soon, but not quite yet, I got too much to do for the roundup.  So, until then, I need spacers so that I can save my shocks (it's really hard wheelin with a cable clutch that's burnt to hell and back, with leafs and no shocks :thud: ) and so that I can have a bit more stability on the trail as far as width :greengrin:

Any brand recommendations? I'm hoping to get em in before the roundup but I'm tryin to find some inexpensive ones that'll do the trick.... I'm thinkin 3's all around

In 99 I won a set from Allpro at the 4Runner Jamboree in Hungry Valley, I don't remember what I did with them though I have a feeling I gave them away since I had no use for them.
