front diff swap
« on: Jul 13, 2006, 11:58:45 AM »
I need to swap in a new front diff in my 87 Runner.  It is a complete housing swap with the one that is in there, just pulling the chunk and replacing it complete.  Any tips on breaking the axle and stub bolts loose?   Any other tricks to this?

Thanks in advance!!

Pretty simple, you've pretty much got it.  when you're breaking them loose, lock your hubs, pop a few, then unlock the hubs, spin the flanges to get to the other bolts, and lock them again.  its really a pretty easy swap
