tire question
« on: Jun 23, 2006, 03:02:26 PM »
hey i was wondering since i have 31x10.5x15 tires on my rims rite now and my rims are 15x10 ,do you think i should get 31's  or go with 33's but do you think 33's would rub on my leaf springs and will i have a clearance problem with 33's?
heres a pic of the rear tires which are 31x11.5x15 and the  leaf springs

and heres a picture of my fender clearance   do u think 33's will rub when turning ?

I was also thinkin about those tires and I read a bunch of reviews on them. One thing that I read quite a few times is that they are really heavy and very hard to balance almost impossible. But do I have experiance with them, NO. If you go with them I would like to how how they are

I've heard good things about TrXus' on I believe it was yotatech, but then again you could find good things on just about any tire somewhere on the internet. What are you gonna use them for?

a buddy of mine runs the trXus M/T's and he loves them. he specifically likes the tread on the sidewalls.

You might want to look into Cooper SSR's - they seem to be the best bang for the buck.  They have real agressive tread on the sidewall and bead protectors built in.  I've read some reveiws on line and the guys in Australia love them.

what i mean is...lets say your turning into a driveway, the spring will compress right when one tire begins to go in...this is where i rub. pound the fender in a little, that helps. you'll rub more if the springs are softer.

33's look like they'd be fine, maybe a litte rub here and there. Truxis MTs are a good tire and they are not that bad to ballence. I work at Les Schwab in Auburn, CA and we have put a few on Toyotas, looks great and I would beleive that they handle good on and off road.

I've ran 33" Truxus MTs for awhile now and havent had any problems.. super quite on the road and wear pretty well if you rotate and balance them regularly. and cant beat them for the price!
