Here's what I traded my truck for, it's an 87 Samurai with SPOA, custom-made rear axle, ARB, Klune-V doubler, new t-case, Toyota power steering, High steer, Rancho 9000's, Ford front shock towers and lots of new stuff still in boxes. It was the proto-type, research and development vehicle for the Klune-V for the Samurai, my brother let them have it after we met one of the owners of Klune-V broke on the trail. We helped him get going and we were talking to him about the Klune-V's and he was telling us that he wanted to develop one for the Samurai but couldn't find anyone to give one up for an extended period of time. My brother had one sitting and offered it to him and the rest was history. Any pictures you find of the Samurai build in the Klune-V build for a Sammi is this truck. Anyways here's a few poser shots I took when I picked it up and after I cleaned it up.

Looks clean, I miss my Sami. Would have been an awesome project. Unfortunantly money didn't allow at the time.

I'm sure you'll have a blast in it!

Samis are cool, I was looking at the tin tops to build before I bought my 83 then someone slapped some sense into me :talkingn: jk, my bud in Penryn has an 87 that started bone stock when he got it and now sits on Yoti axles and 35's, 1.6 FI 'Kick motor, trans & case and an OTR adapter to his Sami 5.0 (?) geared case behind it. Little b*std can fit ANYWHERE!

Rocksurfer

I did, took it out yesterday after busting my :moon: on getting it ready for 3 days, haven't had to work on one of my rigs so hard in a long time. It felt good but boy was I tired. Then after working late for three days and getting no sleep I got up early, early, early yesterday, drove it to the trail, wheeled all day and drove all the way home again.

:thud:

It only took me about 5 min. into the trail before I almost rolled it twice, my mind was still in lwb mode in a swb box, being able to crawl was my savior though no panic since I was going so slow. I just backed off of the ledge and tryed another line and almost rolled it again. I think at that point I realized I had about 40 inches less of wb and took the proper line. We had a blast though and I'm going to create another thread with pics when I get done reading what I missed here while I was working on my rig the last 4 days.

 Awesome! ur gonna be sooooo happy! A Sami would be my second choice for a rig. I would like to get one as a second rig one day when I win the lottery.  Your pictures are pretty crappy but it still looks real nice dude :driving:

If you ask any of my friends they'll tell you I hate Sammi's, there is no platform better than a Toyota for stability, but that Klune-V is worth more than my truck was so I had to do the trade. Only a really stupid person would not have done it. I don't know where I'm going to go with it but it was fun to drive yesterday, but I still don't like that wb and going 50mph on the freeway.

Not to worry action photos coming shortly, it was getting dark out when I took those last 2 and the flash didn't turn on. Body is very straight only a couple small dings in it, but I'll fix those with some big dents.

There is still lots to be done, I guess he decided to let someone have it that he knows will 1 finish the job and 2 wheel the hell out of it. Took me all of 3 long days and nights to shape it up enough for my clubs run. As you can see from the pics it wheels as good as it looks. I made some technical mistakes on lines since I'm used to a lwb Toy and this thing has only like 90" can't take those odd angles anymore and I keep forgetting. Anyways if you noticed in the 1st pic he has several other rigs on his plate and needed to lighten the load, my gain but he still ended up with another project by trading my truck.

Yea, thats what I was thinking... The truck weights nothing so that 100lb may offset the truck on you. Maybe you should move it to the center? :dunno:

Well lets see if I can get the right tire off the ground next time I go out before I move it. :gap:

It may look timid but just like almost every other mild looking rig I've owned it has a real bite when it is on the trail. I may lift it a little more, add some better springs, have talked about moving the axle forward for more wb but as for a :bling: build that's not my style. It better do something for me or it won't get put on my rig, for me it is function over form.

motorider228

oh yeah bling bling shizz isnt my thing either, if i owned that sammy all I would do is build some yota axles, stuff them with 4.88's spool the rear aussie up front and some longs and a set of 6:1's in the tcase and some sliders and that sammy would scream. But I know from your yota you owned you weren't into elaborate builds, I liked looking at your club pictures and seeing you do the same stuff as all those built arse rigs in an almost stocker.
