sluggish motor

I just put a 22r in my 86 toy, it has about 45000 milse on it. the motor is a bit sluggish, what can i do to wake it up alittle. Without putting a different cam or crank in it?

check your timing and make sure that it is correct.  My first 4Runner I got was way to advanced and I had no power, after I put the timing on it was good.  It is a 22r so it will be a bit slow anyway.
1986 Toyota 4Runner 22re 5spd transmission and dual transfer cases (4.7’s in the rear). E-lockers front and rear.

2005 GMC Sierra diesel, compound turbo setup to pull.

I would start with the basics just to make sure I didn't miss anything.  Tune up, spark plugs, wires, Timing (like said above) and I speak from frustrating experience here   :hammerhead:   .  Vacuum Lines!  :yupyup:
