Well, let me first take some more detailed photographs for you first so we both can decide on a price. I don't want to be flamed prematurely again like I was not too long ago.

I would probably take around 150 bucks for it (free shipping).

I will post some photographs of it tomorrow, but I have one for now.

Here it is:

Yes, I have PayPal.

One thing, not being a smarta$$, but are you sure that '81 has/had an L-52 and not a L-50?

I apologize for the long wait.

It came out of an '81, so I believe it to be an L50.

From what i understand, the L-50 should be a direct bolt on in place of an L-43, L-45, or L-52. I believe they got a little stronger as the years progressed, but i wouldnt know how much stronger an L-52 is compared to an L-50, since im stuck driving around with my L-43:(....lol.

Maybe someone else could varify.

I am not totally sure about the strength issue either, but the L-50 I have worked great, but if I understand him wanting the most strength he can get!

The L52 has the larger input bearing then the L50.  The L52HD had larger bearings all the way through.  They are found on turbos.

Yes, the L50 will bolt up and make sure you use the matching fork.

I have 2 L52's complete with transfer cases in VA (23692).
BigMike said he would give me 150 credit for the tranny and
100 for the TCase. So.. $250-$100 shipping, I guess what I am
saying is, I am making $150 make me a good offer with or
w/o the T Case.

have a G52 out of an 84, i too asked marlin's guys if they wanted it adn i believe Dave said he may pay up to $200.  if itll work for you, ill go $200 and ship it myself (if it aint a ton of money!, have to check into that befor i open my mouth) no clutch parts tho, only the release arm.  probaably needs going thru, although perhaps it was the worn clutch that made it feel like the trans may be worn.  anyways, had 187k on it when removed, adn DID drive OK.

84 ext cab project: current status-complete frame off: 4.3 is at the rebuilder's, 700R4 and dual cases still in the works. front lift prolly ORS's coilover. Rear-TBD. Will upgrade the axle shafts and birfs (longs) and brakes. 37" to 38" tires. Mostly a crawler, explorer vehicle, will drive on street some. Lots to go still...gutted cab needs seats, dash, etc, build the "bed", fuel cell, exo cage(?) and misc other stuff I'm sure I'm forgetting. Open to suggestions as I go.
