AC wiring help
« on: May 03, 2006, 12:18:00 PM »
After installing my "new" engine into my 4runner my ac no longer has a connector on the engine harness, so i need to wire it myself... what i need to know is which side is ground and which side is hot ( at least that is what i assume the two wires for it are)  im talking about where it should plug into the AC reservoir in the engine bay ...
thanks,
Andy

"Later, I learned that even though I engage 4WD my hubs are not automatically locking? Something about manual locking hubs I think. What's manual mean? I need to read a manual to lock them? lol  So I found these neat autolocking hubs and installed them. Sometimes they dont stay locked while I am backing up, but that's fine because I dont have a backup camera to see where Im going (like our RV) so I just simply dont ever back up"- BigMike

far as I know, ground one side and excite the other.  It's just an electromagnet, it really shouldn't matter which way you do it.

yeah, I'm sure.  I just looked at mine.  one wire feeds in from the harness, the other is grounded to the compressor body.
