Need Stock Front Shackles for '84
« on: Apr 13, 2006, 01:05:16 PM »
I'm looking for some nice rust free shackles for the front of my '84. Stock Toyota stuff. Mine are probably going to have to be cut to install new springs. I live in corrosion country :rivers:  -- Matt

RIP KYOTA

You can go through life being scared of the possible, or you can have a little fun and tease the inevitable.

Give a man venison, he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to hunt Blacktail, he'll be frustrated for life!

Yeah, I think I better start spraying those bolts today so I can get them apart next week.  :ha_ha:  -- Matt

FYI I have used WD-40 (not really a penetrate but will work in a pinch), PB blaster, and mopar pendant. Mopar works the best, I guess they knew their stuff was going to rust badly, so they made a penetrator to work on all rusty cars!

Looks like you're in Bakersfield. That's a good sign that your parts are not rusty like the stuff we have around here. Will you ship the shackles without delay if I send you a money order and a DHL shipping label for my account? I could let you know where the nearest drop off location for DHL is once I get your mailing address. You can email me at  freematt@idcnet.com Thanks  -- Matt

I got some real nice shackles from a guy I know, but the front "eye" bolts that I thought I was getting fell through so now I'm back to looking for those again. -- Matt

What's included in "the whole setup" ?  I'm interested in those shocks too, but I've spent myself broke the last few weeks. I'd have to wait a couple of weeks to afford them. And I'd like to see some pictures of those Billys. -- Matt

I got you confused with another guy who had some shocks I am interested in. I already got some shackles from a guy over on the 4x4wire board. Maybe if they fit on the rear springs I buy yours. Gota check first. Thanks. -- Matt
