master cylinder problem

  Bought a L.C. master cylinder from Marlin about a month ago..this is going on a 81 mini w/ L.c> rotor and ifs cal.. new wheel cylinders in rear. here is the problem. ican't get the pressure to hold. i bleed everything and on the pedal it feels like it builds up and then leaks out  but i have no leaks. i'm at a lost . thanks ahead for any help.

sounds like the master is bypassing internally.

that sucks ....it's brand new..can it be fixed? now what? it was on back order so long and took so long to get. oh well any one with any ideas?  Marlin has awsome stuff and i am not even bashing them . i could have done somthing wrong but i had great and expereniced help. the sticker do look good!

you know those cruiser MC's are for 4 wheel disc brakes and that a rear drum setup requires an additional 6 lb. residual pressure check valve

Straight from Marlin's site:

Replacement master cylinder for older Pickup's and 4Runners with smaller bore (bore size is cast into right side of housing). Fits 1979-1995 Pickup/4Runner. Features 1" piston and residual valves for both front and rear. Works with both drum and disc rear brakes.  Bolt on installation. Includes reservoir.

can it be rebuilt if it is leaking internaly

yeah, just get a kit and a brake cylinder hone.

should have just went to pick and pull and got a v6 master out of a 96   :hammerhead:  25 bucks.
I'd like to quit thinking of the present as some minor insignificant preamble to something else~~~~~

Plug all ports at the master and see if you can get it to hold.  If not then there's your problem.
