Question about OBD-I port
« on: Mar 01, 2006, 06:40:30 AM »
I have been reserching, with my Hynes book, and forums. My problem is that I recently bought a 85 4runner (finally the one that I always want it) and I can't find the OBD-I acces port under the hood to put the bridge between T and E1 to set the timing. If any one know where the port suposed to be (I read it should be on the left fender next to the coil) or have a picture of it. I will aprutiated. I don't why my truck doesn't have it or the previus owner relocated to anothe place.  :-\\
thanks in advance!

I am pretty sure that it is on the left side of the engine compartment as you look at the enige from the front. It is gray and about 1"/ 2" and it should be connected to the black fuse box. That is how it is on my 94 and toyota deosn't change to much stuff like that. Hope you find it, on a side note the e1 terminal was damaged on mine from repeated use of that is the case with yours you can just jump te1 to ground on the inake manifold. Good luck and good score  :beerchug:
Sounds like more tree huggin hippie bull :pokinit:
