crapyotas build
« on: Feb 22, 2006, 05:18:46 PM »
my build up 88 4runner,35 boggers, locked in rear
ok i am finally tired of not having any wheel travel. my ifs has done its job but i have tortured it beyond what it ever deserved. my last outing cost me a cv axle plus the short axle in the diff  . also i had a 4"lift so the hanger from the frame tore off and made a mess. i need the wheel travel.
so her it goes i have my front axle
  f-250 shocktowers
  front hanger
front driveline out of an 85
  u-bolts
2 sets of 85 rear springs
  gonna get longfield 5.29gears
  still need wheelspacers
  gonna make shackles
  extended brakelines
so does it look like a good start? any suggestions. couldnt get my pics to post have some on photbucket(crapyota). will try later and definatly start to get them up as i start cutting and grinding. this is my first sas so im looking forward to some fun.

sorry this is so old but i have been trying forever to get my pics to post and they wont. i have my sas done now and some pics at photobucket.
a little run down i was gonna do this with no expense to spare but i lost my job and my son ended up in the hospital so to take my mind off of things i pulled my rig into a friends shop with no money and two days later drove it out with a sas done.
front axle-200$
f-250 shock towers 34$
u-bolts made 27$
plates for u-bolts8$
misc. bolts and stuff 30$
g.f. who was understanding about weekend inside shop with no daylight priceless!! oh yeah she also bought me new warn hubs since i didnt have hubs and was looking at a long time before i could buy some.
my front end ended up 3" forward
we made everything else shackles, front hanger used alot of odds and ends from ifs etc. im sure i forgot something but thats pretty much it for now.
i need to save up and get shocks and a set of 5.29s to match the rear diff.
oh yeah my d-line we extended the maintube but only a couple of inches and it still pops out at slip yoke. is it possible to just get a longer main tube or do i need to extend the yoke or just go square? i already have another new tube (from a driveline shop)for the main tube but am i going to waste my time?

thanks!! my boggers have a little over 9500 miles on them was dd. they seem to do alright we have alot of rain up here so i never followclose to anyone on the road. they are a little bumpy for a mile or so if they sit for awhile. especialy if aired down. and everyone says they can here me coming down the road. i dont notice im used to them i like them for the trails we run and they are lasting alright i have wasted more expensive tires on my mustang alot quicker.
