Topic: Coil over + 4 linked suspension vs. Leaf springs

Any info on coil overs and 4 link suspension modifiacations for a solid axel 87 4runner

A leaf spring suspension is tried and true, they are easy to set up, cheap to build, and stout.  But they  are technology, the new types of suspensions that are coming under newer vehicles are more complex and advanced.  A properly set up leaf suspension can easily be a good competition for linked suspension with, coils, gas shocks, coil overs, or air bags.  However a well set up linked suspension can be worlds better than a leaf suspension.
Here are some links to various other threads by other people who have discussed this topic before, I have decided to run a Double Triangulated 4-Link on my Toyota after hours of research and learning.  Though I know close to nothing on how to set the suspension up correctly, I am going to give it my best shot.

A friend has coils on his truck it is very very flexy, but I've seen some leafs flex real good too, check out MiniSimp's setup with leaf's that piviot mount is awsome.

I have noticed a few members, as well in my poll , have voted for leaf springs.  What is your reasoning on voting for Leafs and would you explain your desicion.

Except in extreme cases, as in extreme wheeling I don't see the necessity and expense to convert to coils. I've seen coils and leaves work just as well and have seen the exact opposite too. I have noticed that a coil sprung rig will lean into something that a leaf sprung walked right through without the leaning problem, and then have seen where the coil sprung walked through where the leaf truck struggled. I vote for leaf simply because I don't feel it necessary to make a compent rig.

Does anyone know of a reputable place who sells a fabricated 4 link coil over suspension. Marlin referrred me to Off road solutions, but they wont have one avaliable for like another month.

I have never seen any type of link suspension conversion kit for Toyotas.  Some people will set a jeep tj suspension kit's onto a Toyota.

I have been hearing that some company's are in the process of designing one but no leads ont how long it will be.
