Super Bowl XL

I'm not sure which way to vote yet  :dunno:

The voting ends two days from now.

The questions is who do you think is going to win, not who do you want to win.

Honestly I know I'm a fan of Seattle and I still have to say that they are my pick in the superbowl.  I feel that they really have something to prove this year and have played extremely well so far in the post season.  Something many people said they did not have the capibility to do.  Carolina was the pick for the game and Seattle stopped them very short offensively only giving 1 TD.  They said that the Seattle Defense wouldnt' be able to handle Steve Smith.  Well once again its Seattle vs. The World.

I still have not voted because I am still

In my opinion the game will be determined by the Steelers defense.  I expect that the Steelers will score 21+ points and it will be up to the defence to limit Seattle's offense.  I have not seen the Steelers, or Seattle, play much this year so it is hard to know.

I played our Superbowl "Squares" game at work. The numbers I have are (which represent the last number of the scores of course):

Seahawks *4  Steelers *1
Seahawks *7  Steelers *4
Seahawks *0  Steelers *9
Seahawks *4  Steelers *3
Seahawks *1  Steelers *3
Seahawks *6  Steelers *0

If the last numbers of the scores in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd quarter are any of those numbers I win $40
4th quarter I win $80

I think the Steelers will win by a Field Goal in the last few seconds of the game. :sofa:

The teams are so evenly matched, its gonna be a chess match between the coaches.

Sorry Gotrocks  :rivers:  I really expected Seattle to do a bit better.

I'm happy for Cower and glad that Big Ben wasn't the star.

Having lived in Colorado for the Super Bowl losing era, I can attest that the refs are never on the side of the losing team.

Hasselbeck was a man during his interview (much more so than Manning) so props to him!

Power was out all weekend, 54 degrees in the house this morning and very dark... :inthedark:

It has been awful quiet around Kitsap County (near Seattle), I have seen almost as much Steeler stuff as Seahawk.  Seems to reinforce my opinon of fair-weather fans being in the majority.

Non-Professional Analysis:

Either the best team or the one that wants to win the most has historically been victorious in the super bowl.

This year Seattle lost by 11 points and many fans blame the refs for taking the game away from them.

Seattle had a disputed holding penalty at the goal line, but it was the sack on the next play that backed them out of FGl range.  3 points

Seattle had a terrible play (either execution or call) that setup the missed 54-yard FG.  Josh Brown is an excellent kicker and likely would have made it from under 50 yards, the long bombs require too much focus on distance rather than accuracy.  3 points

I suspect that Josh Brown might have made the second FG if he had made the 1st two.  3 points

It seems that Seattle was within FG range at the end of the game. 3 points

The bottom line is that Seattle had the opportunity to win the game if they had just executed well enough.  The Steelers were horrible in the 1st quarter and kept fighting.  Just my  :twocents:
