Topic: 82 22R air injection pipe question

I have an air leak in the metal tube that feeds the air into the exhaust manifold.  There is a crack in the tube which is, of course, behind the block where I can't see it but can feel it with the tip of my index finger.  I was careless when I removed my exhaust manifold a few weeks ago and put the crack in the pipe.  Now I get air leaking and exhaust noise coming out of the tube and I gotta get my truck smogged ASAP and it won't pass with this leak. I live in CA.  I can't repair it where the break is so it will need to come out to be repaired or replaced. The tube runs from the air pump as a rubber hose then couples up to the metal tube on the passenger side rear corner of the block then wraps around the back of the block to the exhaust manifold on the driver side.  Anyone here ever have to remove that pipe?  Any tips on removing it?  It looks like a major pain in the *** to take it out.

it is a pain, but it can be done.  be careful and go slow.

its really easy, getting them to seal back on the manifold is hard. for some reason i had problems, used high temp, sensor safe gasket maker and it worked like a charm. pick and pull has the replacement if you don't wanna jb weld it or however you were gonna do it.

Will probably have to go to pick and pull as you suggested.  I went to a dismantler in my area yesterday to look for the tube.  As I walked into the yard, right there in the front on the fence was hanging a 22R manifold with the tube attached but, unfortunately, it was pretty badly twisted so unusable.
