Calling TURBO and Blane525
« on: Dec 22, 2005, 08:12:41 PM »
Hey guys, I`m sure TURBO will see this first, so I will just direct it towards ya buddy :beerchug:

Hey man, yesterday I did some reseach about Hobby shops here in Tokyo, and I found out that the 4 largest ones are right here near Akihabara, and one in fact is even in Misatos neighborhood!!

I only went to two shops of which I later learned that the other two really are not worth visiting, and that NO ONE sells used parts.

So I cant do anything about the Clod axles unless I go through the auctions here.

However, these two shops have a VAST supply of aftermarket hopup parts for our cars!!! The HPI RS4 is a bit outdated, and therefore they only have a few parts left, with the majority of their HPI parts are for the newer HPI Pro4, which is $400 new!!!!!!!! Believe me, I have already thought about buying it, but my car can kick your guys cars butts, so I dont need it.

Now, as for the Team Associated, the TC3 is old yes, but Associated used that model for a bit longer than HPI had used the RS4, so they actually have a larger selection of TC3 parts and also a lot of TC4 parts, which is the next-generation Team Associated car.

Tim, give Bevin a call and have him look at these picutres. I am wondering how the prices here compare.

I took many pictures, but I didnt really write much down. I will head back to the largest RC shop here next Monday, so I will write down some common prices so that you guys can compare the prices here with the prices back at home.

Ill just post up some pics-

This is by far the largest RC store in the area, and from what I am told, in Tokyo. Its called CHAMP R/C

This is the display case near the front door

This is some models near the HPI parts

Same isle, more models

Just look at all the bodies they offer, and this is JUST on the HPI isle

Here is all of the HPI parts. It would be my heaven, but unfortunately my car is too outdated and hardely any parts are available.....

Here are some huge HPI Shocks, complete    Bucks!! $$$$

Here are some Touring Car springs that will work with my car, and I already have the white and yellow ones.

Note that when you see a price, in general, just move the decimal over two spots and that would be about the $US value. For instance, those 8 purple HPI Shocks are priced at 12,128 yen. So drop the last two digits, and it will be apprx. $121, and more precisely it would be somewhere around $115 I would say, as the exchange rate is like 0.92% or something like that.

So drop the last two digits and then take off a couple of bucks depending on the value.

And lastly, here are some prices on the models themselves, but this is from a SMALLER STORE, so I imagine that the larger store has cheaper prices, but they are out of stock on the models.

I know their prices are great here, but the Team Associated and HPI are from America, right?? So I guess the prices are about the same as back in the states??

But I am sure that the Tamiya models are BY FAR cheaper than back at home, but I am not interested in anything new-Tamiya.

Here is the brand new HPI Pro4. 40,425 yen is about $395 US

Here is the new mini RC18MT RTR. 25,032 yen is about $235 US

And here are some of the TC models.
The T4 stadium truck is 33,432 yen, which is about $315 US
The TC3 NITRO is 45,192 yen, which is about $435 US
And the TC3 Team Car is 33,390 which is about $315 US

Also, the larger store is deep in the heart of Akihabara, SO IT IS DUTY FREE!! NO TAX BABY!!! SA-WEET!!

So beat that!

:ha_ha:

Talk to Bevin and reply back here-

Hey TURBO,

I have something that I need to ship to my house, but according to all of the internet mapping programs and also US Post Service, my new home address is not in service yet. My mother told me it is, but I dont want to ship something there and have it get RTS (Return to sender).

So I have no choice but to ship it to the Shop :nerv: :tantrum:

Now I know how you MORONS like to open up all of my stuff, but this is top secret HPI stuff that you can not see until I get back. :tantrum:

Ill gladly show you it when I get back, but I want to be the first person to see it. :maddest:

SOOOOOO, If I ship the package to the shop, it will be there in about 8 or 9 more business days from now, and I want YOU to get MY package and either take it home, or give it to Marlin and make sure that he takes it home. :moods:

So what do you think? Do you think that if I send a package to the shop that you will be able to intercept it before it gets lost??? :crossed:

Let me know DUDE :psss:

Cya
