he made the actual half doors  \___/.   then cut 2 holes and put the tube there.  That would be my guess

Our Body guy who does all of our body repairs and painting made those doors for Marlin as a gift. Then they were so popular, that he has made a couple other sets for some locals here, including a set for me as soon as I get up there to help him sand it down for some painting..

Here's some pics I've got of it, good luck!

Is there any chance that this person would be willing to make another set at a given price?  Say I drop off the doors and hardware and pick them up at a later date?  I would rather pay someone then attempt to mangle my doors.  I do not have any experience with sheet metal, yet alone do I own a welder.

Thanks,
Ryan

I would be interested in some plans for these doors as well.  They are some of the best looking half doors I have seen.  I have a '79 P/U.  Also interested in how they latch / unlatch.  Is there a pull cord or pushbutton?  I can't see anything in the pictures.

it really is not that hard.  i made a set exactly like those, and they looked damn good.  once you cut em open you'll see that if you just push the latch down they open, so weld an extension on em and then cover it with sheet metal with a little slot for that rod you welded on to stick out.  just push em down and they open.  thats the easiest way, but you could also mount the stock inner latch horizontally and bend the rod so they work like that.  anyways, dont be scared to dive into projects like that, if u have a beat up set of doors then u shouldnt be worried and ull never learn if u dont try.  just lay a piece of masking tape on the doors where u want the cut and follow the tape line.
in the projects nooga, anything goes

This is the gentleman who made the doors: rocblaz. Click on his name to send him a Private Message  I don't know if he has ever done a Tacoma door, but he is very talented and definitely up to the challenge! It will turn out very good!
