1981 toyota trekker project
« on: Nov 14, 2005, 12:53:32 PM »
this was Sky Manufacturing's old trekker.  the cab is junk but all the trekker back half is good.  have the rear seat, AC dash, tilt column, pedals, and back hatch.

the frame has everything the Sky makes on it.  front cross member, shock hoops front and rear, sliders, set up for 63's in the rear.  this is a frame and body.  i was going to build a sweet ride but money is not allowing that.

i have some pictures upon request.
this is in Oregon city and i am open to offers.  there is a lot of money in the frame and trekkers are hard to find.  i am not expecting $2000 but you wont get it for $500 either.  just make a decent offer and i might even be able to deliver it.

So I'm assuming you're up in the springfield area then?  I'll throw this past my brother up there and see if he's up for another project, bout time he graduates from the toy cars to toy trucks.  Throw the pics up here too, might help some.

Rockscrambler, I think you're thinkin of a toyota motorhome.  These were more like a first gen with a shell and no wall between the cab and bed.  The trekkers had a flush mount shell but others had a shell that bumped up like the older shells.

no it looked more like the pic battletoy posted but the top was about six inches taller than the cab of the truck. I can't tell if the top on that one removeable or not but my teachers was because I saw it without the shell one day. and it had just a back seat no bed , no nothing. I was thinking about it and I  don't think it was called a trekker though it was called a sun------- something? but i just can't quite remember what.
but I called one of my buddies who still lives back in Florida and that teacher is still teaching there and she said she would ask if she runs into her .

Oh I see, our mental picture thingies were just working differently.  My coworkers 84 has a high shell instead of flush too, can't remember who made that one either.  There were atleast a few different manufacturers for these, I've seen old nissan 720s like this too.

If it is a true treker then I believe it should be, saw a pic of another one somewhere on here without the shell.

 my friend from high school says that the teacher still has it or her son does and it is trashed and a mile high and repainted so no name and no top (destroyed in a flop while hunting) and he has not been able to find replacement :headscratch:  i wonder why :dunno:

OK she found and old picture of it when it was new and it says "Trailblazer" in big multi colored letters on the back of the bed wall and on the fenders it says trekker. I haven't seen the picture but thats what she says.
