FOR THE LOVE OF YOTA!!!
« on: Nov 07, 2005, 05:14:33 PM »
please help guys- my rig is pissed, it starts and idles fine.... but then when i try and drive it-it boggs down and sputters out of life. its acting as though its running out of gas..but it isnt, i already replaced the cap-rotor-plugs and wires-and the fuel filter as well as ran a high power fuel system cleaner through it. its helped a little but it still is really bad. i need help yall, i think that it may be a mass air flow sensor or throttle position sensor, its an 87 efi

Is it throwing any codes? Sounds like an ignition problem.  Maybe a short or lose connector going into the coil?

Adjust the TPS, then you can eliminate it as a possibility.

Did you check the power supply to the fuel pump make sure you have enough voltage low voltage would cause it to odle fine then act like it was running out of gas as soon as you tried to drive it.  :twocents:
