What would YOU do in this situation?
« on: Oct 31, 2005, 09:16:48 AM »
Ok, I am soooooo pissed right now.  Here is why:

I started redoing my boys' kitchen about a month ago. It took me and a couple of the boys 2 weeks to get 3 wallpaper removed and the wall repainted.  Last week we finally finished it.  Well, this mornin one of my boys gets mad cuz he can't take his stinkin do-rag with him to school (School rules).  So he punches a 2 foot hole in my new wall
 :tantrum:  :maddest:  :snare:  :tantrum:

Now I would be a lot LESS pissed if I hadn't just spent 2 weeks trying to get that wall done.  I go out of my way for these boys.  Even when they treat me like :pokinit: cuz they're mad at someone else, I do what I can to do fun things with them whether or not they deserve it.

Ok I'm done venting :lipsrsealed: for now :disturbed:

Make him do all the work to fix it.

It's that simple.

If he is going to destroy something, he needs to be responsible and fix it.

I totally agree, however with the restrictions that are placed on us, we can't expect them to do work without them getting paid for it.  He WILL be paying for it out of his allowance for the rest of his life, but still.... I just wish he'd run away :tantrum:

I like Rocksurfers idea. Make him pay prevailing wages, and the cost of the materiels.  I would also make him sit there and watch the other boy fix it so that he has a time investment in it as well as a financial one.

good luck

excellent idea, he will have to pay out of his pocket for another boy to fix it and watch him do it.

Oh, and for future reference, I have never tried this but I am told if you mix equal parts fabric softner and warm water and spray it on the wall paper it will come right off.

Wish I had known you were doing that sooner, might have saved you a lot of time.

:smack: I was using a hot clothing iron over a towel over the paper.  it softened the glue.  But it took FOREVER.  I then tried TSP and it worked! Just had to drench the walls with hot TSP and got it all off :hyper: Thanks ORG! I'll have to remember that.....

As for makin him pay another boy to do it, I don't know if that's allowed by licensing, but it's something we can look into :headscratch:

Pitch a :pokinit: fit to show how stupid he looked.
Kick his ass, but tell him it hurts you more than it does him!
Make him pay to fix it.
Make him wear pink underwear to school. (maybe outside his pants)
Kick his ass again.
Tell him only Democrats act like that!
