What pin type? There are several styles, (You know where it plugs in), is yours a 2 plug ecu, or a 3 plug ecu?

post your ecu's part number and I'll go check it against mine. Mine's in storage so I have to make a trip to check.
It's a three plug type. I also have a two plug type from an '83 celica.

If it is EFI it will be 3 plug and if it is carb it will be 2 plug. That is the differents. an 85 will work as long as it is EFI. It can be a car or truck there is no difference. I put 22re in my truck that was a car engine and used the truck ecu and then used the car ecu and there was no difference. smoged the same and ran the same .   just some input to help
