I used 2x2 for the rails from the frame to the sliders and used 2x3 for the sliders themselves. I angled mine so it stays tucked up with the body nicely. I like them. Smacked one pretty good this weekend with a rock and there was nothing more than a little scratch. If your going to do some heavy bashing on them then make sure to either plate the frame or make some kind of bracing so you dont tear the frame. Oh and all my tube was .120 wall. good luck

I love them.  But if i new my truck body was gonna turn into a piece of crap then i would have cut the bottom outside lip of the cab off.  You know, the lip right under the bottom of the door line.  That would give me another 2 inches of ground clearance.

Mine cost a 30 pack of beer. 2x2x0.25 172" of material total.

Find a guy who knows a guy and build them.

Or just buy Marlins!

Not to thread jack, but toyhautsu, I totally dig your ride.  Being a weirdo I've always kinda liked the rocky, and wondered what it would look like if you built it up.  Are those stock width toy axles?

I've been meaning to put up a thread in the rig gallery just so that Marlin could document the first (that I know of) dual cases in a Rocky.  1985 4Runner front axle and 1991 truck rear.  Ya gotta be a wierdo to like or own one :-)

RHG, it's a daihatsu rocky, an od looking stubby little 4by that sadly didn't really catch on here.  I test drove one once and was surprised by how much power it had, not gonna break your neck but more than you would expect from them at that time.
