I agree with all of you.But it's just a reaction,or natural instinct.I have seen many people stick their arm out just as soon as their rig starts to tip.Remember when you rode a bike?.When you leaned, your first reaction was to put your leg out...Same thing here.

I hear what your saying but you still don't wanna be sticking your hand out, just last weekend at Calrocks a competitor was basically rolling over but not quite flopped and the guy was sitting there with his whole arm hanging out the top of his rig... until everyone started yelling at him to put his arm back inside. I guess he felt safe sitting there, but even the littlest slip would have crushed his arm.

Yup,it's true...What I'm saying though,is that it's a quick reaction people have. There's no way in hell that a person's arm would hold a vehicle up.I'ts just a reaction.I don't think they actually think theyre gonna stop the flop, most people quickly pull their arm right back in as soon as they realize what they are doing.

Yeah you're right, a natural self-preservation reaction to reach out and catch yourself so it's not your head bouning off the ground that a lot of people would do. I guess in a open jeep you don't very many brace yourself points like the interior of an inclosed vehicle.

It is a standard and unfortunately natural reaction...I guess that is why having doors and keeping both hands on the steering wheel is a great idea.  Sometimes it is necessary to build in safety stops to save ones self from their own stupidity.

I think I heard someone say "back off" in the video. Just to learn from his mistake (besides the human outrigger idea) I think if he let off the brakes and pressed in the clutch he may have just rolled backwards....Another reason wheelbase keeps our shorts clean    :clap2:

We started to do the same thing going up Cadilac hill and I backed off when it started hopping, we rolled back and stood it up on the spare tire. We never turned it over, but Mrs W got out after that. He was trying to go too fast, we just had too much weight on the back and none on the front.
