Cheap U-bolt flip
« on: Aug 25, 2005, 08:37:26 AM »
I just thought I would pass on this info for a very cheap u-bolt flip. Someone might have already figured this out, but I have never seen it on the web.

For a REAR u-bolt flip you can use u-bolts and plates from a 2WD FORD F-150. Not sure what specific year range ,but I'm thinking they were the same from the early 70's all the way to the late 90's. They work Perfect for a toyota.

They have to be from a 2wd if you are not using lift blocks. The 4wd f-150's are exactly the same, just longer u-bolts because the 4wd's came factory with lift blocks. You could use these if your running 2'' lift blocks on your toyota.  :nonono:

I bet everyone out there probably knows someone with an old junk f-150 , so usually you can get these for free. Although , if you don't know someone who has a bunch of junk fords , my buddy just bought some from a junk yard for $5 ..... What a deal

Maybe this will help some of the poor people like me save a few coins for something else.  :best:
