I like how durable mine is.  I mean, i beat the crap outa if.  It is only when one of the front tires gets really stuck and doesn't want to move.  It is like breaking a u-joint, but it just pops outa place.  It happened like 5 times and the fifth time is when the nuckle cracked/broke.  Don't know how to fix it.  Tehre isn't a parts listing for that part in the booklet.

why the hell would I want to spend a couple hundred dollars on one of those when I could put that money into my real toy, $44 won't affect my build on my yota. as I can see, your stock a$$ yota isn't getting anywhere so you might as well give up and waste your money on a clod.

Hey guys,

once again, the Office Girls didn't bring CRAP. Dean was the only one who put up, CruzrDave didn't even attend the event :shocking:  :o  :yikes:  :spankbutt: :spank: :bash: :kickbutt: , and CJ didn't do crap.

Bevin and I kicked Dean's butt because Dean is using inferior radio technology.
Dean broke a shock mount, and Bevin blew up his front end. My rig did pretty good, but my Lego guy kept falling out and eventually he broke his right arm :ack: but since I'm also a doctor on the side, I was able to reattach it and he was able to retain his full range of movement.

I should have taken more pictures, but I was having to much fun going places where Dean couldn't :ha_ha:

Infernal and Yotaon40s made the event, but Infernal's Real Jeep (his wheeling rig) wasn't ready so they had to hike all the way into the Springs on Saturday, so they didn't bring their RCs. Next time we will have a larger RC Crawl Event maybe? It was fun running 3 RC trucks at the same time :gap:

I am now running some really old electronics that I've had sitting in my closet for many years now, a Futaba MC210CB Speed Controller, Futaba FP-S148 Steering Servo, and a Futaba FP-R112JE 2channel Receiver using a Futaba Magnum Junior Controller with high and low throttle controls and full steering controls (range and torque).
Bevin is also running aftermarket electronics as well.

Bevin and I did this, well because it's much better of course, and we figured that there would be 10 of these RC Crawlers up there, and using the stock radio, only 1 Truck can be operated at a time because the stock Chinese electronics are GARBAGE. So it wouldn't be much fun, but now we could run all three of ours at the same time, and it was pretty cool.

Here's a pic of Dean's buggy climbing a huge cliff wall, and here's a pic of my new steering setup. I'm working on a new four-link setup now that I hope to have finished by this weekend.

TURBO and I decided that with all the progress we've done to our 1:18th buggies, that we should take them somewhere and get some pics

We've both ditched the garbage factory electronics and have full proportional throttle and steering, we've extensively lightened up the bodies (my body only weighs 136 grams).
TURBO's buggy has front and rear steer, front and rear 4-link suspension system, and a modified chassis from a Traxxis model
My buggy has rear 4-link suspension system on a stock Nylint chassis, with batteries relocated to inside the differentials and some other classified modifications.

But we are pretty much done with these things.. After doing all of this work, and getting these toys to the point that they can do almost anything, limited just by their tire size, we are done with them and we are going to start building a custom Tube 1:10th scale RC Crawler now. I have had enough of this walmart piece of crap plastic toy. I want to have a Tube Buggy done by Dec. or Jan.

Enjoy the pics!!

I just took some more close up pics of what I've done so far, and what the hell, I'll just spill the beans of everything that I've done :shhh:

  • I built the 4-link two weeks ago
  • This past weekend, I relocated 4 batteries to the rear differential
  • Improved my ground clearance by apprx. 3/4"
  • Built 1/4" wheel spacers at all four corners
  • Added apprx. 1/2 lb to the front axle using lead tire weights
  • Added 100 grams of weight to both front tires using pellet gun pellets, taking the weight of each front tire from 48 grams to 148 grams
  • Stretched my wheelbase to just under 9"
  • Significantly lightened the body - down to 136 grams from 220 grams stock
  • Significantly lightened the chassis but have not weighed it
  • And of course I'm using full on Futaba electronics
  • Using 2300 mAh AA Batteries, get's me about 2 straight hours of CONSTANT usage per 10min charge (at 5 Amps)
  • Center of Gravity is VERY low
  • Removed both High Range gears to reduce power loss through the drive axle
  • Cut out every-other tire lug dramatically improving the tire traction and flex (tire squat)

Specifications:

Overall Weight - 3 Lbs 2 Ounces
Wheelbase      - 8 15/16"
Track Width    - 7 7/16"
Overall Height  - 5 7/8"
Center Ground Clearance - 2 3/4" :eyebrow:

My Flex is now down to 5 1/2", but the 4-link KICKS BUTT compared to the triangulated three link that the buggy came with stock. The rear end never stands up by itself anymore, and there is absolutely ZERO rear-steer, which is perhaps the biggest improvement.

I have not finished my front 4-link system, I have the parts already made for it, but I don't know how much longer I want to tinker with this thing, as I said before, I am going to build a 1:10th scale tube buggy and this thing has now just become a toy that I no longer care so much about.. :scared:

And here are some pics of the chassis and the rear of the rear diff that was cut out to fit the 4 AA batteries.

If I ever get around to finishing the front 4-link, then I will put the remaining two batteries into the front diff, and maximize my ground clearance completely. Also, finishing the front 4-link system will allow me to lower the overall height by about an inch and still maintain nearly the same ground clearance that I have now, and I will stretch the wheel base out to about 9.5" or so.

I need to get some pictures of TURBO's front axle. He cut his knuckles and rotated the entire axle assembly and then rebuilt it, thus rotating the front diff just like I have rotated my rear diff up. It makes a HUGE improvement in the approach and departure angles immediately in front of and behind each tire.

That's it for now. I'll most likely start a new thread whenever I get around to building the 1:10th scale buggy, so this is to be continued later-

That's awesome Mike...I need to get some new pics of ours up.Tomorrow.Diggin' the rear steer.

Right on man. Yeah the Rear Steer on TURBO's (similar to Toyminator's) but now TURBO has lost so much power because he is using the two weakest axles, or I should say, when you turn your axle, you are loosing percentages of power the sharper you turn. And since TURBO is only running the :stopit: 700 mAh stock battery pack :thud: he only gets about 10mins between charges. The increase of axle power loss -- possibly 25% more power loss -- and the added servo just slaughter the wimpy stock batteries.

Those 2400 mAh batteries that Bevin and I am running make a huge difference. I already have some 5000 mAh C-cell packs that I will use once I build a 1:10th one. Gonna be sweet-

I took the cover off the rear axle and found out some good news.  It is driven by a belt tpye thing and that is slipping.  thats why under load my rear axle doesn't want to turn.  I wonder if i can get a rubber band to fit on there.  I think i am going to paint the body soon.  Either black or tan.

Finally.  found a website to host my movies for free.  Here is one of my first movies.

And this movie is when my friend rolled it down the hill and bent one of the rear rims plus popped the axle joint out of place.
