22re idle problems
« on: Aug 18, 2005, 10:51:18 AM »
when i bought the truck one of the first things i did was a tune up. Bosch +4 spark plugs, new cap and rotor, and msd wires. when i rev the engine and then let off the throttle the engine idles down to about 300 rpm and acts like it is going to stall but the returns to normal. normal idle is set at about 650-700 rpm. the only other engine mod is a stock replacement K&N airfilter
88 pickup- stock for now

America has always had on imigration problem just ask any indian

throw those damn plugs away.they suck.i have never seen a car come with them from the factory.if they worked they would.get NGKs or autolites, non platinum and stop wasting your money.may need to clean the TB or the cold air valve is bad.make sure you have no vacuum leaks.check and check again.

i have the same problem and the only thing in common is the k&n air filter, but i don't think that's it... i played with the idle screw on the intake but it seems like that just covered up the problem.
